The end of a very long day, 4am and King Street in downtown Kitchener is absolutely quiet. I need to start going to bed and getting up at regular hours, but then again, what fun would that be?
Spent the day in Toronto with the team in a series of meetings with our advisors. Seems that we still have a lot of work cut out for us, we’re definitely up for the challenge though. Went over to KR’s later in the evening to watch the Superbowl game between the New England Patriots and [...]
I spent most of the day in a series of meetings at the University of Waterloo and at the Treehaus in Kitchener, before making my way to the Rotman School in Toronto. Fact: I always have a good time whenever I’m in Toronto. Its always great to be surrounded with a group of kickass people [...]
It was a busy weekend working away in preparation for an important meeting that took place earlier this morning. The hard work was certainly worth it as we got some great feedback on our startup with a much clearer idea of how to proceed in the coming weeks. Decided to take the evening off and [...]
Spent most of the day working away at Coffee Culture in uptown Waterloo before moving to our office at the Treehaus in downtown Kitchener. Later in the evening, I had a series of meetings related to TEDxUW, TEDxWaterloo, TEDActive and TEDxAlAin, leaving me super excited for the months ahead!
Cheating slightly on Project 365 since this photo was actually taken on Sunday, January 22. I did want to put it up on this blog, and since I didn’t take a good photo today, figured that this would work. Had a great lunch downtown with SK this afternoon, worked at the Treehaus for most of [...]
Grey, misty and quite the miserable day outside today, as seen from the 2nd floor window of the Treehaus overlooking Kitchener City Hall. The temperature is hovering around the 7 to 10 degree Celsius mark. On the other hand, Calgary is currently experiencing -29 degree weather. Woah.
Alright, I have a secret. I don’t know how to ice skate. Or I haven’t ice skated in 10-12 years or so and getting back on the ice would probably be really awkward. Or perhaps funny, depending on how you look at it. This is definitely going on my list of things to do/learn for [...]
And the weekend is off to a great start… Had two back-to-back TEDxWaterloo planning meetings earlier today. March 21st can’t get here soon enough and yet, there is still a lot to do to make TEDxWaterloo 2012 a reality. Lots of exciting things coming down the pipeline, especially on the education outreach side of things [...]
Another busy day filled with meetings back to back for most of the afternoon. Finishing up a proposal for a potential client, reaching out to and meeting with people to get some feedback and advice for our startup, and finally receiving the articles of incorporation in our email inbox today for said startup… all in [...]
Lorel and I hung out in Kensington Market in downtown Calgary this evening. I took her out for dinner at this really great Vietnamese restaurant named kol 3 (would highly recommend it), had some tea at Oolong Tea House (which deserves a whole blog post to itself), and in true form, ended the evening with [...]
Living in NYC for at least a year or two is on my list of things to do before I hit 30. I currently have three and a half years to go to make it happen, I guess I’ll just have to make the next few years count then.
Built in 1972, the Cebu Taoist Temple located in Cebu City, Philippines, is open to worshippers and non-worshippers alike. The temple has an elevation of 300 meters above sea level, and if you climb the 99 steps to the entrance of the temple, you’ll be rewarded with a great view of Cebu City, along with [...]
December 2010 There is nothing quite like spending the Christmas season in Vienna. One of my favorite spots in this city at this time of year is the Wiener Christkindlmarkt. Absolutely beautiful.
The Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Cebu, Philippines, was opened in August 1999 and connects Cebu Island to Mactan Island. The bridge is one of the widest and longest bridge spans in the Philippines and was named after the late Senator Marcelo Fernan (Oct 24, 1927-July 11, 1999), the 20th President of the Senate of the [...]
February 2011 Someone walked in front of my camera the instant I snapped this photo, hence the red wave like effect. Had a great time seeing old friends in Amsterdam while on a quick stopover as I made my way from Manila to Vienna.
I’m convinced I’m going to live in Spain at some point in the near future. ¡Viva España!
April 2011 2011 was certainly quite the year. Excited to see what 2012 has in store!
May 2011 – In transit to Abu Dhabi to attend and help make TEDxAlAin a reality.
A photo of the lower east side across the Brooklyn Bridge, taken on a recent trip to NYC. I love this city
