After a 20 hour journey from the TEDxSummit in Doha, the Canadians have landed at Pearson Airport in Toronto. So glad to be home!

Beginning to really appreciate the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship culture that exists in Waterloo Region. Coming back to this community, planting some roots, starting a company and continuing to build on the success of TEDxWaterloo, was certainly one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made.

Spotted in Hespeler, Cambridge earlier this morning when I met up with Wendy for coffee to discuss old books, vinyl records and downtown business and community revitalization.
Reunion in Toronto with an old childhood friend. Hamza and I used to cause a lot of trouble back in Al Ain, UAE, up until we were 11 when his family moved to the UK for good. That was 16 years ago. Time flies!

Grabbed dinner and drinks with a friend at Jane Bond. Had the black bean and avocado quesadilla along with chocolate flavored beer. Yes, you read that right… chocolate beer. Yum.
Good Friday dinner with one of my really good friends, Chelsea. On the menu: Atlantic salmon; kale salad with blue cheese, pears, bell pepper; and red wine. And of course, pecan pie for dessert. Jesus himself would be proud
Working away on our product website. Currently in getting things done production mode! In between, had a lovely lunch with Cevie today followed by a great Skype conversation with Aaron, a serial entrepreneur from NYC whom I met at TEDActive, and who gave me a lot of great advice on building my company. Spent the morning with the FFP students from Galt Collegiate in Cambridge discussing TEDxWaterloo, City 2.0 and ideas to engage young people in their communities a lot more! Thanks for having me!

Spent most of the afternoon in Coffee Culture in Uptown Waterloo. Had an amazing conversation with an old friend that I hadn’t seen in a while, and made a new friend in the process as well. I love lazy Sunday afternoons getting ‘work’ done.
Where I spent most of my afternoon… hanging out at my new ‘workspace’ sipping on a Kentucky Cowboy, one part Americano, another part Collingwood maple whiskey.
